A Message from Ramon Gallegos (via e-mail, 01-23-07):

"...I just wanted to say thank you to those of you from our school who attended the clinic this past Saturday: Amanda, Delilah, Don and Family, Gloria, Hector, Lee, Ron, and Vladimir. Thanks Randy for bringing the family to the Luau and thank you Ernie for the donation.  Though I understand that life happens and that it can be hard to make time for working out, we still missed all of you who couldn't make it.  It was a great clinic.  Attendance was large, and there were no injuries; a success in my book.  My dad taught three Judo throws, one of which was new, even to me.  The throws were successful even for people with very little Judo training.  Jason Knudtson taught three grappling techniques, two of which ended in arm bars and one that ended in a leg bar.  All were effective and easily executed.  Scott Baker taught some of the foundations of Wing Chun and demonstrated the power of channeled inner energy.  He also taught some breathing techniques that strengthen your ability to harness your inner energy and quiet the chattering monkey (the voice in your mind) that distracts you when you most need to concentrate.  Professor Baker also brought his experiences from being a psychologist at a corrections facility to his art.  After the hard workout, we received instruction on how to repair the body from two very qualified masseuses, Dr. Lori Jeffcoat and Patty Takahashi.  After all was said and done, we were treated to a traditional Hawaiian dinner and spectacular dance show.  Wish you all could have joined us. It will be great if our school is well represented the next time something like this comes around..."
